Fun times!

Blake: "It's not a car wash. It's a MOM wash!"

Tony's been in San Diego, CA for a few days. And these last few days have reminded me that I am not cutout to be a single mom! Not at all. I have such appreciation for those who are and for those whose husbands spend a lot of time away.

I had planned for a fun day, but the boys had other plans--driving me crazy!

After the church talent show, I had to get a few things from Walmart but then I took them to Chick-Fil-A. They have a nice, clean play area. I told Blake he had to eat his food before he could play.

Throughout the entire meal, this is what I said:
"Blake, get off the floor."
"Egan, leave those flowers alone."
"Blake, sit down and eat your food."
"Egan, sit down."
"Blake, please don't kick that lady's head."
"Egan, get back here."
"Blake, don't do somersaults on the chair!"
"Eat your food and make good choices or we'll go home."

Finally, we went home. No play area. I literally dragged the kids out with them kicking and screaming. While I was in there, a couple different middle-aged ladies came up to me (with faces full of pity) and assured me that it would get better. One lady just said, "they do grow up someday." (Yeah, right. She hasn't met my husband!)

I was almost ready to call it a day, turn on the T.V., and tune them out! Then I felt guilty and decided to give them one more chance--a carwash!

Last week when I went out to my car, I saw some kind of toxic-looking greenish-yellow dust covering my car. I later learned it was only pollen. Nearly every morning for the past two weeks, I have gone out to find the cars with a new layer of "toxic" pollen. Needless to say, both cars needed a good wash.

Here are some pictures of the boys washing the Silver Bullet (I decided the Pontiac needed a better name than "the silver car"). They had so much fun! And I felt so much better after having a little fun and enjoying my sweet boys for a while!

Blake, "the sprayer"...

Such a cutie...

And another cutie...

Egan: "EEZZZZ" (a.k.a., "cheese")

My little star!

Today was a day Blake had waited for ALL WEEK. Today was the Pinnacle Mountain Ward Primary Talent Show!!!

Honestly, I did not intend to have him in the talent show at all. After he heard one of his Primary leaders talking about it last Sunday, he decided on his own that he wanted to do it.

His talent of choice? The Silly Dance!

The Silly Dance is a little number that his daddy made up. For Blake, it mostly involves running around in circles.

He did such a great job. He had no problem getting up on stage. Most of the younger kids had a hard time just getting UP there, but Blake's only problem was knowing when to stop!
